Hello! I’m Caroliena Cabada, and I’m a writer currently based in Ames, Iowa. I’m the recipient of the 2018-2019 Pearl Hogrefe Fellowship in Creative Writing at Iowa State University where I’m pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing and Environment.

Previously, I was a Social Media Associate for the Natural Resources Defense Council’s Food and Sustainable Agriculture program, which included the NRDC and Ad Council’s Save The Food public service campaign. Before that, I was an Editorial Assistant at the Rockefeller University Press, a Summer Resident Assistant at New York University, and I’ve had internships in social media, communications, and public relations for nonprofits in New York City. I earned a BA in Chemistry from New York University.

On the side I (try to) keep up a blog called Food Forests Forever, which focuses on environmentally-friendly food systems and re-greening projects around the world. I’ve blogged previously at Polyprotic Amory. My writing has been published in the Minetta Review, and here and there around the internet.
